How PlanMe handles your data.
What PlanMe Collects
PlanMe collects the trip details you enter (destination, dates, interests, and travel preferences), the TikTok or Instagram links and videos you import, the places and itineraries generated from them, and in-app purchase transaction records from Apple. It also uses your device's current location, but only at the moment you ask it to start a route from where you are. PlanMe does not require an account, name, or email address to plan a trip.
How PlanMe Uses Data
Your information is used to build and store your itineraries, process the clips you import, validate purchases, and export routes to maps. Current location is used only when you choose to start navigation from your position and is not tracked in the background.
Sharing and Service Providers
PlanMe does not sell your data and does not share it for advertising. To deliver core features it shares the minimum data needed with service providers:
- Google Maps and Places - mapping and venue lookup
- OpenAI - extracting places from clips and generating itineraries
- Apple - in-app purchases and subscription validation
- Cloud storage - temporary handling of uploaded videos
These providers process data only to perform their service for PlanMe, and we require them to protect it with safeguards at least equivalent to those described in this policy.
Data Retention and Deletion
Videos you upload are processed and then deleted from server storage once their place digest has been generated. Imported links and generated place data are kept only as needed to build and maintain your trips. Your trips are stored locally on your device; you can delete any trip individually, or clear all locally stored data at any time from the Legal screen in the app.
Data Security
PlanMe uses reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections to its services, to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
PlanMe is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 13, or the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
International Transfers
PlanMe's service providers may process and store data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, appropriate safeguards are applied to those transfers.
Legal Bases (EEA and UK)
Where the GDPR applies, we process your data on these bases: to perform the service you request (building and storing itineraries, processing imported clips, and validating purchases); with your consent (using your current location to start a route, which you can decline); and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and working. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the rest of the app.
Your Rights and Choices
You can decline location access and still use the planner, remove individual trips, or clear all locally stored data from the Legal screen in the app. Depending on your region, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to it. To exercise any of these, contact us at legal@planmeapp.com. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of sale; PlanMe does not sell personal information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page, and the date above will be revised.
